The EDUBOT project pilot program in Romania, which aimed to enhance students' math skills and support their learning processes, began in January 2024 and continued through May. Organized by the Regionet Foundation, the project involved a total of 149 students from schools in Harghita County, including eighth-grade students from Orbán Balázs Primary School and Backmadarasi Kis Gergely Reformed College in Odorheiu Secuiesc, as well as Bethlen Gábor Primary School in Lăzarea. The pilot education was led by five dedicated teachers who actively supported the students' progress and the successful implementation of the program.
Throughout the program, students deepened their knowledge in six core math topics, preparing for the competency-based math exam scheduled at the end of eighth grade. Based on assessments conducted before and after the pilot, the students' performance improved on average by 15.33%.
One of the project’s goals was to provide personalized support for students’ learning and enable teachers to tailor their teaching to students’ individual needs. To achieve this, students were grouped weekly into smaller groups based on their performance in the topic covered that week.
The positive results of the EDUBOT project confirm that modern educational methods and new technological solutions can effectively contribute to students' academic preparation
