On 21st October 2024, a dissemination event showcasing the results of the EDUBOT project was held in Komárno, with the participation of 24 teachers. During the event, teachers had the opportunity to gain insight not only into the project’s outcomes but also into the essence of the blended learning methodology.
Given that the focus of content-developing teachers in Slovakia was on delivering the computer science subject within the school framework, the event included a presentation of the learning pathways and topics developed for the computer science curriculum. The participating teachers also showed significant interest in the exam preparation content developed for the mathematics subject. Although this was only briefly covered, they were introduced to this concept as well.
Within the computer science curriculum, 21 learning pathways were created, including 6 linear and 15 adaptive pathways, in the following topics:
- Basics of computer technology
- Computer graphics – graphic image editing
- Text editing
- Working with spreadsheets
- Presentation editing
- Algorithmization, programming – SCRATCH
- Algorithmization, programming – Microbit
- Internet security
- Multimedia
The teachers also had the opportunity to explore the platform itself and get an overview of its functionality, as well as the supporting materials, such as:
- The User Manual
- The Blended Learning Methodology
Unfortunately, none of the content-developing teachers could attend the event in person, but we thought it was important for the teachers to receive information directly from a colleague who had worked with the platform and developed content. Therefore, we showed a short summary video created by one of the content developers to the participants.
The event was successfully conducted, and the teachers were open and highly interested in an online tool that allows them to work with students in a personalized manner, tailored to their real needs. They found the ability to review results and the system's evaluation feature to be extremely useful.
